The Difference You’ll Feel

Your child deserves more than feeling lost in a busy swim class

Children learn best when they feel safe, supported and genuinely known. Our boutique approach gives instructors the time to understand each child’s confidence, strengths and areas for improvement.

  • Seen, not counted. Smaller groups mean your child is noticed, encouraged and corrected — every single lesson.
  • Progress that carries over. With consistent teachers and personalised feedback, lessons build on last week rather than starting again.
  • Patience when it’s needed. Nervous weeks happen. We slow down, rebuild trust, and let your child set the pace.
  • Skills that last a lifetime. Confidence, water safety and a real love of swimming — not just a certificate.
Coming from a bigger swim school? Many of our families have. Tell us where your child is up to and we’ll find the class that fits them, not the other way around.

The Pod Squad Difference

Why families choose Pod Squad

We’re a family-run boutique swim school, small enough to know every child by name, and everything we do is built around steady progress and happy swimmers.

Boutique classes

A more personal learning environment, where children receive meaningful attention and feedback rather than getting lost in the crowd.

Small classes, more individual attention

Most younger classes are generally limited to around 3 children, while Level 3 and above generally have up to 4, helping instructors provide more personalised support and feedback.

Consistent instructors

Familiar teachers help children build trust, confidence and continuity, so every week picks up where the last one left off.

Warm 30°C indoor pool

A comfortable, welcoming indoor pool that keeps lessons positive all year round, whatever the weather outside.

Known by name

Our friendly team takes the time to know every child and family. Not a franchise, not a number — a genuine local swim school.

Confidence and progress

Lessons are designed to help children improve their skills and water safety while developing a genuine love of the water.

40+ years’ combined experience

Experienced instructors support children at every stage, from a first introduction to the water through to confident swimming.

Easy parking

Weekday parking in the quiet cul-de-sac, and weekend parking inside the school grounds. One less thing to juggle.

Lessons all year round

We run every term, all year, so your child keeps building confidence without long breaks between lessons.

We’ve been coming to PodSquad for about 5 years now. My two kids love it and they have progressed so much, they truly care about the kids and the best approach for each of them so they can learn to swim without fear. All the instructors are amazing. I highly recommend them!

Our nearly three-year-old daughter has been swimming at Podsquad and we couldn’t be happier. It’s a warm, family-run business and you can really feel the care that goes into every class. We’ve noticed a huge improvement in our daughter’s confidence and ability since starting. Podsquad is a gem, and we’d highly recommend it to any family looking for a swim school with heart.

A Peek Inside

What a Pod Squad lesson looks like

Warm water, a familiar teacher and a small group. Every lesson is built around encouragement, so children leave feeling capable rather than corrected.

1

A warm welcome

Your child is greeted by name by a teacher who already knows where they’re up to, so lessons start with comfort rather than nerves.

2

Skills through play

Floats, noodles, mats and games turn kicking, floating, breathing and stroke work into something children genuinely enjoy.

3

Water safety woven in

Safe entries and exits, reaching for the wall, rolling to breathe — the habits that keep children safer around water.

4

Real feedback

We finish with praise, and let you know what your child worked on and what’s coming next, so progress never feels like a mystery.

Good to Know

Your questions, answered

We teach children from around 6 months right through to 12 years — babies, toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged swimmers. Whatever stage your child is at, there’s a place for them.

You don’t need to work it out on your own. Send us an enquiry with your child’s age and a little about where they’re up to, and our team will recommend the class that suits them best.

Yes, and it’s something we genuinely care about. Boutique classes and consistent teachers make an enormous difference for a nervous child. We go at their pace, rebuild trust patiently, and never push a child before they’re ready.

Wherever possible, yes. Familiar teachers are a big part of how children build trust and confidence here, and it means lessons carry on from week to week rather than starting again each time.

We keep our classes intentionally small so every child receives meaningful attention and feedback. Transition through Level 2 classes generally have up to 3 children, while Level 3 and above generally have up to 4 children. Class sizes may occasionally vary depending on the program and individual needs.

Our indoor pool is kept beautifully warm at around 30°C all year round, so children stay comfortable and relaxed in the water — whatever the weather outside.

Yes. Private lessons suit children who benefit from focused one-to-one coaching, whether that’s building confidence or refining technique. Get in touch and we’ll talk through whether it’s the right fit.

Absolutely. Use the “Add Another Child” button on the enquiry form to include siblings, and we’ll look for class times that work for your whole family.

We operate from The Beach School at 10 Malinya Road, Allambie Heights, which is convenient for families right across Sydney’s Northern Beaches — and plenty of our families travel in from further afield.

Yes. On weekdays you can park in the quiet cul-de-sac nearby, and on weekends parking is available inside the school grounds.

Swimmers, a towel, a swim cap, and goggles if your child likes them. A cap is required before anyone can get in the pool, so please don’t forget it — we recommend a fabric cap, as the silicone ones tend to pull children’s hair and little ones often don’t enjoy wearing them. For babies and toddlers still in nappies, a disposable swim nappy under a snug reusable one is essential. If an adult is in the water, a rash vest or T-shirt gives little ones something to grip.

Fill in the enquiry form on this page or give us a call. We’ll have a friendly chat about your child, recommend the class and time that suits you best, and get your trial booked in.
