All lessons are held at The Beach School, Allambie Heights. We offer boutique learn-to-swim programs in a warm, supportive environment—helping all ages build water confidence and safety skills for life.

Class Types

Baby Beginner Class - 6 to 18 MonthsList Item 1
This parent-assisted class is designed to introduce babies to the water. Learning basic swimming skills with the help of a parent/guardian. This class may be merged with the baby advanced class.

Baby Advanced Class - 18 Months+List Item 2
This parent-assisted class is designed to introduce babies to the water. Learning basic swimming skills with the help of a parent/guardian. This class may be merged with the baby beginner class.

Transition Class - 2.5 yearsList Item 3
Your child will learn to seperate from their parent and have good listening skills for the 30 minute class. They will learn water saftey skills which includes safe entry and exit to the pool and following basic instructions from the teacher.

Level 1 - 3 to 4 yearsList Item 4
In this class your child learns to put their face in the water independentaly while paddling and kicking with a noodle. They can swim confidently with no googles for at least 1 meter and return to the edge unaided. Can jump from the edge of the pool.

Level 2
In this class your child will learn to do big arms, take independant breaths between strokes, kick with a kickboard back and front, assisted floating from back to front. They can swim unaided for 3 meters and are able to pick up objects from the bottom of the pool. Seated diving from the edge of the pool.

Level 3
Your child will learn to kick with straight legs front and back, backstroke arms, breathing to the side and roll from front float to a back float unaided. They will be able to swim 10 meters unaided and can jump in and turn around back to the side. Kneeling dives with no goggles.

Level 4
Your child will learn to swim freestyle and backstroke unaided for 15 meters. They will start to learn butterfly kick and swim confidently with no goggles. Standing on the side of the pool and diving in.

Level 5
Your child will learn to swim 15 to 30 meters freestyle and backstroke. They will start to learn breasktroke kicking and arms. They will continue to learn butterfly kick and complete 15 meters. Refining the dive from the side of the pool.

Level 6
Your child will learn to swim 60 meters of freestyle and backstroke. They will master 15m of breakstroke and butterfly. Develop an understanding of water saftey and learn how to help someone to saftey while treading water. Racing diving from the side of the pool.

Junior Squads
Your child will learn to swim two laps of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke in under one minute (per swim style). They will also be able to swim one lap butterfly in under one minute. They will develop their skills in swim drills and stroke types

Private Lessons
Private lessons can be arranged at either of our pool locations or in the comfort of your home pool (see mobile swim lessons). Private lessons are tailored to your child's level.

Water Safety Week
The last lesson of each term is water safety week. The children wear clothes over their swimmers and we teach them the importance of water safety, including life saving techniques.
